Catamount Energy Announces the Sale
of its Fibrothetford Interests

RUTLAND, VT – Catamount Energy Corporation (Catamount) announced today that its subsidiary, Catamount Thetford Corporation, has completed the sale of its 44.8-percent interest in the Fibrothetford power plant located in the United Kingdom to Fibrowatt Limited. Fibrowatt is the majority owner of the Fibrothetford facility.

“The proceeds will be used to focus on our wind business going forward,” noted Bruce Peacock, a managing director of Catamount.

“This transaction allows us to continue to rebalance our portfolio toward wind,” added Joseph Cofelice, president of Catamount. “At the same time, we want to conservatively finance the business so the sale of our Fibrothetford interests fits with our financial objectives as well as our strategic direction.”

Catamount, the independent subsidiary of Central Vermont Public Service (NYSE: CV), has been in the business of providing clean, cost-competitive electricity in the U.S. and Europe for over 15 years. In response to opportunities in the renewable energy sector, Catamount has refocused its strategy toward becoming a developer, owner, and operator of wind energy projects.
