Catamount Energy Corp. Announces Power Purchase
Agreement with Central Vermont Public Service Corp.

RUTLAND, VT – Catamount Energy Corp. (Catamount) announced today that Glebe Mountain Wind Energy LLC (GMWE) has reached final agreement on terms for a Power Purchase Agreement with Central Vermont Public Service. Catamount jointly owns GMWE with Marubeni Power International Inc. The agreement, subject to a 90-day notice period to the Public Service Board, provides that 100% of the output of the proposed Glebe Mountain wind project in Londonderry will be sold to CVPS at a discount. This agreement is expected to save CVPS’s customers up to $700,000 per year.

Assuming the Glebe Mountain project receives state approval, this agreement means that Vermont-generated discounted power from the project will serve local loads in Londonderry, Windham, and surrounding towns.

Catamount Managing Director Robert Charlebois said, “This discounted power is just one of many local benefits of this proposed wind project. Property taxes for the project will be approximately $20 million over 20 years. The towns of Londonderry and Windham will receive their allocated shares of this amount.” Charlebois added, “The project has also proposed a host agreement with the towns of Londonderry and Windham, which could result in as much as $5 million over 20 years being paid to the two towns. This is a clean renewable source of local generation, with local consumption, that provides economical and environmental benefits.”

If approved by the Vermont Public Service Board, construction of the project would begin in 2007. The power purchase contract would begin with the project’s completion, targeted for 2008.

Catamount is a developer, owner, and operator of wind energy projects and has been in the business of providing clean, cost-competitive electricity in the U.S. and Europe for 19 years.
