RUTLAND, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001--Catamount Energy Corp. announced
today that James Moore has joined the Central Vermont Public Service subsidiary
as president.
"Catamount and our other non-regulated subsidiaries will play an important role in the future of CVPS, and will continue to add value to the company's bottom line," CVPS President Robert Young said. "James has extensive experience in the purchase and sale of generation facilities, and I am confident that under his management, Catamount will continue to prosper."
In addition to his position at Catamount, Moore has been named senior vice president of CVPS. Moore previously served as president and chief executive officer of American National Power, where he led the company from a start-up to a company with capacity in excess of 4,000 megawatts and assets of approximately $2.5 billion. "Catamount has an attractive position as a niche market investor and a significant green power producer," Moore said. "Our goal is to achieve a combination of rapid growth and disciplined investing, which will create long-term value for CVPS."
Catamount focuses on acquiring power generation assets that are in the late stages of development, in construction, or already operating. Catamount seeks projects in the 10- to 150-megawatt range in the United States, Canada and western Europe. The company concentrates on gas-fired and renewable projects, including hydro, biomass and wind. Catamount has a portfolio of 10 projects in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany, including an 80-megawatt hydro project under construction in West Virginia.
