Blaengwen Wind Farm

Catamount Cymru Cyf has submitted an application to Carmarthenshire County Council to build a wind farm on farmland northeast of Alltwalis. The grassland site is currently used for the grazing of sheep and cattle.

The Carmarthensire Council approved the application on March 27, 2007

The site was selected after a lengthy process to identify potential wind farm sites across the UK, taking into account landscape sensitivities as well as planning, environmental and technical criteria.

In addition to the turbines, the wind farm will consist of a landscaped substation and access tracks.

Blaengwen is being jointly developed by Force 9 Energy and Catamount Cymru Cyf (CCC). CCC will be the owner of the project and is a joint venture between Catamount Energy Corporation and Statkraft Development AS.
