Berry Burn Wind Farm Catamount Energy Ltd has submitted an application to the Scottish Executive to build a 29-turbine wind farm within the Altyre Estate, south of Forres in Moray, Scotland, that will generate enough electricity for more than 44,500 homes. The Berry Burn site was selected after a lengthy process to identify potential wind farm sites across the UK, taking into account landscape sensitivities as well as planning, environmental and technical criteria. The turbines will be a maximum of 104 meters high to the tip of the blades. In addition to the turbines, the wind farm will consist of a landscaped substation and access tracks. In order to minimize environmental impacts, connection to the national grid running north of the site will be via an underground cable. The project is being jointly developed by Force 9 Energy and Catamount Energy LTD (CEL). CEL will be the owner of the project and is a joint venture between Catamount Energy Corporation and Statkraft Development AS.
