Barmoor Windfarm Catamount Energy Ltd has submitted an application to the Berwick-Upon-Tweed Borough Council to build a 9-turbine wind farm at Barmoor to the Southwest of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, that will generate enough electricity for more than 15,000 homes. The Barmoor site was selected after a lengthy process to identify potential wind farm sites across the UK, taking into account landscape sensitivities as well as planning, environmental and technical criteria. The turbines will be a maximum of 110.5 meters high to the tip of the blades. In addition to the turbines, the wind farm will consist of a landscaped substation and access tracks. The project will connect to the Scottish Power distribution system to the North. Barmoor is being jointly developed by Force 9
Energy and Catamount Energy Ltd (CEL). CEL will be the owner of the
project and is a joint venture between Catamount Energy Corporation
and Statkraft Development AS.
